Paines & Gray Kitchen Design
The previous kitchen was 15 years old with a cream colour scheme and black granite, and the client had found that it didn’t work for cooking, family life or entertaining. It felt dated, too busy, and congested when everyone was trying to use it.
Integral to the brief for the new kitchen was to design something which would accommodate a busy cooking environment and offer plenty of room for entertaining.
The L-shape layout and central island really fit the bill. The main run of furniture features double Siemens ovens and an AGA. The island features the brilliant BORA Pure hob, plenty of worktop and storage space, and a breakfast bar. This creates a social space for family and friends to hang out but leaves the cooking and food prep area clear for the cook!
Lots of storage was also on the brief to help the family keep the open-plan space feeling uncluttered. We’ve perhaps over-delivered here as the client commented that it is wonderful having a home for everything; the only issue is remembering where he’s put things!
